MALAYSIA BUSINESS EVENTS SPECIAL IMMIGRATION LANE

Business event delegates can now benefit from a streamlined entry process at KLIA with the new Business Events Special Immigration Lane. In partnership with MyCEB and the Immigration Department of Malaysia, this dedicated lane is designed to expedite immigration clearance for arriving delegates.

Directions for Arrivals in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)

  1. Head to the AILA 2024 Hospitality Desk in KLIA (just before the Arrival Immigration Counters) and show our Desk Team this above e-card.
  2. You will be guided to the Immigration Lane 49 or 50 for Clearance
  3. AILA 2024 Hospitality Desk in KLIA will be available from 9am – 9pm (GMT+8), 9 – 11 August 2024

If you arrive outside of the Desk operating hoursplease proceed to Immigration Lane 39 or 40 and showing the attached e-card* to the Immigration Officer on duty.

Note:

    • Failure to do so will result in delegates having to queue at the general immigration clearance lanes.
    • Showing the attached e-card for verification and access to the special immigration lane is MANDATORY.
    • You will be attended to on a first-come-first-served basis.
    • Terms and conditions are subject to changes at the discretion of the Immigration Department of Malaysia

GETTING TO THE KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE

Taxi, Ride Shares & e-hailing & Gab Cars

Taxis, ride shares & e-hailing will drop passengers off directly at the entrance of the KLCC. Popular options include Grab. GRAB is the equivalent of Uber. Depending on traffic conditions, travel time from may vary during peak & non-peak hours.

You can download the Grab Apps from Google Store.

LRT

Visitors can conveniently take the LRT to the KLCC LRT stop. Upon disembarking, follow the directional signage that leads you through the Suria KLCC Shopping Mall. A pedestrian tunnel conveniently connects the mall & Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

Car

The KLCC offers on-site parking with the entrance located next to the Traders Hotel. Here’s a breakdown of the parking rates:

REGISTRATION AND HELP DESK

The AILA 2024 Registration and Help Desk is located the Centre Core, Level 3, KL Convention Centre with the following opening hours:

11 August 2024 (Sunday) : 1300 – 1800 hours

12 August 2024 (Monday) : 0730 – 1800 hours

13 August 2024 (Tuesday) : 0730 – 1800 hours

14 August 2024 (Wednesday) : 0730 – 1800 hours

15 August 2024 (Thursday) : 0730 – 1800 hours

16 August 2024 (Friday) : 0730 – 1500 hours

ON-SITE PAYMENT

For your convenience, we accept on-site payments at the Registration Desk during operating hours. Please note that we only accept credit cards in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Unfortunately, we cannot accept American Express or cheques as payment.

NAME BADGES

Your badge grants you access to all the exciting events throughout the congress, including:

KUALA LUMPUR CITY TOUR

For delegates who have pre-booked their seats, please visit the Tour Desk located next to Conference Hall 1, Level 3, West Wing, at the KL Convention Centre to check in and confirm your seat from 12 – 13th August 2024.

Currently, all seats are fully booked. Any available seats will be advised from 14 August onwards.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR NAME BADGE

  • Your Official Pass: Your name badge serves as your official pass for the congress. Please wear it visibly at all times while on-site.
  • Non-transferable: Sharing badges is strictly prohibited.
  • Lost Badge? If you lose your badge, a replacement can be obtained at the Registration Desk for a MYR250 administrative fee.


GALA DINNER – Ticketed Event

Gala Dinner is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 14 August 2024 at Courtyard, Royale Chulan KLCC from 1930 – 2300 hours.

Admission Fee is MYR 290.00 each and delegates interested in attending the Gala Dinner will need to purchase tickets separately. Tickets are available at the Registration Counter, Level 3. Purchase your ticket by 12th August 3pm. 

INVITED SPEAKER REGISTRATION

Please proceed to Counter 9 (located outside Suite Club), Level 3, KL Convention Centre as per Registration Hours to collect your invited speaker badge.

GUIDELINES FOR ALL SPEAKERS AND PRESENTERS 

All speakers and presenters are required to have their presentations prepared on a thumb drive, which will be plugged into a laptop immediately prior to their scheduled presentation time. Please ensure that your thumb-drive are virus free.

Exhibitors can be found in the at West Wing Foyer, Level 3, KL Convention Centre.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Posters can be found in the Poster Area at West Wing and East Wing Foyer, Level 4, KL Convention Centre. 

Poster sessions will be conducted during the morning and afternoon breaks from 13 – 14 August 2024. 


DRESS CODE

Business casual attire is recommended for attendance at all congress sessions and social functions. The congress centre can get a little cold and therefore we encourage you to have a shawl for ladies and a light jacket for men. 

WEATHER

Malaysia boasts a tropical climate with average temperatures hovering around 25.4°C, often reaching as high as 33°C. Pack light, breathable clothing and don’t forget your sun hat. Be prepared for sudden downpours and bring along an umbrella or raincoat.

BANKING & CURRENCY

Issued by Bank Negara Malaysia, the local currency is the Malaysian Ringgit or MYR, also abbreviated to RM. While there is no limit on the amount of foreign currency and travelers’ cheques that can be carried in and out of Malaysia, when it comes to MYR, the value is limited to the equivalent of USD10000. Keep in mind that exchange transactions over RM3000 require a form of ID, usually a passport. The currency exchange in Malaysia here have electronic display boards showing the current exchange rates, and one can be assured of good rates. 

Conveniently located banks and money changers can be found in the vicinity of KLCC.

Tips 

  • Always check for card-skimming devices at ATMs and card machines.
  • Check and count exchanged money in front of the money changer before leaving.
  • Carry cash in lower denominations – RM 10 and RM 50 while street shopping, as larger denominations are more difficult to exchange.
  • Save the coins to pay for items at street stalls.

  • GrabPay: Widely used, offers QR code payments, discounts, and rewards.
  • Touch’n Go eWallet: Convenient for public transportation and toll payments.
  • Boost: Popular for online shopping and restaurant payments.
